Alabama Accent

From Montgomery, AL to Mrs. Montgomery

I Will Celebrate!”

God blessed me with an amazing husband. I prayed for this man for years. I even developed a list that I would often pray over. I was accused of being too picky many times. “You will not find someone who is perfect,” were the words I heard over and over. I knew this, but I also knew that I was not going to settle for less. High atop my list was the requirement to be a good father. I desired a mate that would be an encourager, a teacher and a guardian for my child.

Since moving to Vega, I have met many wonderful fathers. These men lead Godly lives. They teach their children by their actions. They pray for their children. They spend time loving their children. They grow them up in the ways of the Lord. I am encouraged by these men and I desire that my son to be like them.

The Lord hears our cries! He answered my prayers by giving me the best father I have ever known in a mate. I have witnessed my husband change countless diapers. He is faithful to share in feeding times. He is dependable during the long nights in which sleep has vanished. He treasures time with his family. We wait, anxiously, everyday for his return and we celebrate when he walks through the door.

I may bite my tongue when I pick his dirty clothes up off the floor, but I love being the woman that has that job. Sunday is Father's Day and this year, I will celebrate. Happy Father's Day to all the great Dad's in our lives!
