Focus Friday

Hello Friday!
I wish I had good news to report. Something along the lines of: I met my goal! I must accept defeat and move on. I have been doing a lot of thinking during this past week about shifting my goal. If I haven't met it twice, should it really remain a goal? Perhaps I should individualize my goal a little more. Some weeks, I have no trouble sticking with the Wii Fit and others, well, it just seems impossible. There is good news to this week. I have been staying active. I have been for a bike ride lasting 40+ minutes everyday except yesterday, lasting only 20. I have been swimming. I swim laps, pushing my little one in his float. This is more of a workout than I expected. I can really feel the burn in my legs and waist: 2 great target areas. I just think about looking at my tv vs. getting out and enjoying the season and I chose to get out. Plus, my son is only content for so long watching me workout. It's much better for him when we are being active together. With a high of 103 today, I'm thinking we will go swimming again! A bike ride is out of the question because the wind was blowing when I woke up this morning. With our heat in full season, I have to go first thing after breakfast or wait until 9:00 at night on the days I work.

O.K. This week I will have a major bump in the road with exercising. My sister is coming and I want to spend every minute with her instead of working out. So, in attempts to be reasonable, I would like to focus on exercising two days. I'm sure I can squeeze in some time while she is visiting her friends. I would also like to focus more on my relationship with my Lord. My husband and I really need to participate in an in depth study. I would like to chose a study this week.

In summary:
1. Exercise two days.
2. Identify an in depth bible study.

Hope you have a great week with your sister and are able to find a good study to do with your husband. We just started one last week... it'd been way to long since we've done one and it's been very refreshing for us. Hope you find it refreshing too!

Realistic is much better, and you will feel more accomplished instead of defeated. You are getting in lots of great exercise good for you. Enjoy the visit with your sister.

I'm sorry you did not meet your goal! You are already ahead of me I have a really hard time getting motivated to go out and do anything even though I really want to! I hope you get more time for Bible study! It's sometimes hard to set aside a time, I have difficulty doing it too.

Aww 11 months! I totally understand the pics and stuff, I would do the same, since my family lives in Florida!

Thanks! It was a really good book. I hope you get the chance to read it some time. I have heard of that devotional you are doing. I used to work at a Christian bookstore, and I remember seeing it.

Thanks so much for your comments!

Oh Kate, I'm so proud of you! Swimming uses far more muscles than any exercise you can do, so keep at it and you'll reach your goal quick AND have fun in the process! It'll be fun to watch Miss Coordinated trying to do the Wii also! (You know laughing is good for the soul!)
