Happy New Year!

I really miss my family this year. It's only the 2nd day of the year and I miss them so. If we were all together, we would have gathered at Mom's to eat lunch. We put a penny in our cornbread and the person who gets it has good luck for the coming year! It's so fun for us. We have a way of making everything fun! Instead, Seth, Charlie and I had lunch here. I cooked a great Tilapia dish. It was baked in a white wine/lemon/garlic/butter sauce with orange marmalade and cilantro on top. Seth made fantastic mashed potatoes with cheese, ranch seasoning and bacon. We of course had cornbread and black eyed peas. We started our own penny tradition and I got it again this year! Aunt Melissa got it at home! They all called so I could be a part of that :) If we lived back home, we would have spent New Year's Eve at my Dad's staying up and playing games all night. Instead, we went to a friend's house and had fun visiting with all the locals. We called it an early night. I watched a little bit of the Time Square deal and went to bed at 10:00. We had a great day together yesterday playing the Wii and watching the Rose Bowl parade and the Sugar Bowl (go Gators)! Life is so different now that I have moved. I never dreamed of raising children away from my family, but that's is how it happened for me. All of us do the best we can with how life turned out. We dream of the day when Seth and I become millionaires and I can spend a month at a time back home!! Seth will finish flight school and upgrade their plane and he can fly us home for visits! All this will happen, but the waiting is the pits! This year has been another great year for me and mine. I am living out my happily ever after one day at a time. I have more than I can mention to be thankful for. The Lord continues to favor me! I am a blessed woman. For 2010? Cultivate my relationship with our Lord is my #1 priority. Be a Godly wife and mother is a close 2nd. Lose weight of course has to make the list. Doesn't it make everyone's? I am SO excited about my lil sis moving here. This will bring more comfort to me than she knows. I will have family here then! She will become a part of our little family and will share in our lives. I will have someone to watch movies with, to baby sit (on occassion), and to have lunch with! I can't wait for this wonderful life change:) Yeah!!!

Oh I'm feeling your pain too, Kate. As long as I live, I'll NEVER get use to us living SO far apart! My only consoluation is that I know I'm going to see you once a month for some quality time. I hope we're blessed this year like we were the passt 2 yrs with seeing each other that often. I've got a feeling something very special is going to happen to us in this 2010 year! Love you much (and mooorrreeee!)
