O' Christmas Tree!

This is the last year that I will get to decorate the Christmas tree by myself! Next year, I will have two new little hands helping me. It was my first year to decorate the tree with my new hubby! Having him to put the tree together and strand the lights was a BIG help. I preferred to hang the ornaments by myself!

Baby it's Cold Outside!

Tis the season to drink hot chocolate! A Winter favorite of mine is hot chocolate! I start my day, everyday, with a cup of hot chocolate. I usually end up having a cup in the morning, a cup in the afternoon and a cup in the evening. After going to Starbucks and getting a cup for $4, the idea to add caramel came to me! After feeding Charlie, I go to the stove and whisk up a delightfully creamy, sweet and chocolatey treat!

Looking in the Mirror!

Charlie loves looking in the mirror. I love how he has his hand on the back of his Daddy's neck!

Baby's First Christmas Gear!

I just love this stuff! I am having way too much fun with my child! What fun we will have for Christmas this year :)

Charlie's Christmas Gear from Hallmark!

I was so surprised that Hallmark had such cute Christmas clothes for babies! I can't wait to put these on Charlie!

Thanksgiving Evening with the Montgomery's

We went to Seth's cousin's - Kirk and Kay Montgomery - for supper. Kirk and Kay live in Vega and have two children - Ross and Michelle. Ross and his wife - Wendy- live in Vega. They have 5 children. Michelle and her husband - Joey- live in Lubbock (They are moving to Vega in January!) They have 2 children. Gentry is their oldest and she is holding Charlie. She did so good holding him! He really liked her and I have video of her smiling and playing with Charlie and he is giving her his BEST efforts to giggle! It is SO cute! Kirk and Kay had SHRIMP for Thanksgiving. I graciously finished off what was left of that for them :) I also enjoyed a Pumpkin Roll Kay made for dessert. She also made her own whipped cream and guess what? I enjoyed a heaping spoon full of that as well! Marrying in to a BIG family is SO fun!

Thanksgiving Fun with the Engle's

We go to Seth's maternal grandparent's-Papa and Barbara's house for Thanksgiving. This year was a BIG year. There were lots of family members there! I did not think to take pictures of other people :( We enjoyed feasting on lots of good food and desserts. We brought green bean casserole and a new corn recipe that our Nanny gave us. I enjoyed my favorite - honey baked ham. My favorite dessert was sopapia cheesecake. Barbara is a FANTASTIC cook and she makes these wonderful rolls. I think she said she made 78! I ate 3! She also makes her own whipped cream! Those that know me know I love whipped cream. It is a tradition at Thanksgiving for all to play a game of Chicken Foot. This is a Domino game. It was a nice feeling to have a house full. Some were playing Chicken Foot, some were wathcing football and others were visiting. It was wonderful to be with my new family. They enjoyed holding Charlie and I was proud that he was good for them.
The first two pictures are us at home just before we left.

Charlie's Thanksgiving Gear!

Look at how cute he is! He wore this to church this morning and was a big hit! I get so excited about what to dress him in. You may recall the bib from an earlier picture. I love this outfit, but Charlie doesn't seem so sure about it. I can't wait to celebrate Thanksgiving with him. Everything is so fun with him in our lives.

Charlie's first 3-6 months outfits!

Look how much he is growing! Sometimes I think he is growing right before my eyes. His personality is really developing. He smiles sooo much and we just love that! We are trying our best to get him to giggle, but he has not done that yet. He is so adorably fat too!

Happy 3 Months Charlie!

Charlie is growing so much and we are having so much fun with him! He is entering a really fun stage. At three months he is smiling the size of his face! He is cooing. He makes "G" sounds mostly when he coos. He gurgles some. He is really beginning to drool. He blows bubbles. He is moving his tongue a lot. He has discovered his hands and spends a lot of time looking at them and putting them in his mouth. Sometimes when he is nursing he will stop and put his hand in his mouth! I know then that he is about finished. He loves to look at himself in the mirror and smile. He stays wide eyed a lot, discovering the world around him. He has developed "sweet cheeks" that are perfect for kissing. His neck is hard to find! He has those chubby legs, arms and wrists. He now likes to have his diaper changed. He is really active on the diaper changing station. He likes his swing and bouncer. He likes to look at the mobile on the swing and he likes to be able to kick and bounce in his bouncer. Plus, in his bouncer, he is able to follow Mommy and Daddy around and watch them complete different tasks. He likes his tummy time station. He loves looking at lights and ceiling fans. He is developing into his routine and Mommy knows why he is crying when he cries. He loves time with Daddy when he gets home. They have a special bond that started when we first brought Charlie home. Seth is more innovative than I am. I stick to the routine and conventional way of doing things and Seth takes time to see what works specifically for Charlie. Seth will sit on the couch and prop his feet on the coffee table, elevating his thighs and knees. He will place Charlie on his thighs. Charlie is at the perfect angle to look around and to look at Daddy. Seth discovered that if Charlie is crying, he can put him in this position and hold his hands and he will calm down. I could do a whole post on ways that Seth has found to comfort Charlie. Charlie also likes to sit up. He especially likes to sit beside or on us. He is a happy baby and loves being loved. I absolutely love the mornings when I get him for his first feeding. I go to the bassinet and there he is, smiling up at me with his hands at his mouth. He sees me and starts moving his legs and arms. Then, he just keeps smiling so big. Some people have coffee, I have Charlie! We are so proud to have Charlie and LOVE being his parents every single day!!!

Happy 3 Months!

Me and Grandpa!

I am so glad that Charlie has such a good Grandpa. Kim is a very busy man, but he takes time to stop by as often as he can. He may only have 10 extra minutes, but he will use those 10 minutes to come by, look at or hold Charlie and get back to work. I got tickled the other day because he stopped by while he was on one of his tractors. I had a tractor the size of my house in the front yard! I am sure that he is counting the days until Charlie can drive his own. Kim was able to spend some quality time with Charlie when I was in the hospital. It all started the day I had surgery when he had to come to the house at 4:30am! Thanks for all your help Grandpa!
