My 1st Tea Party!!
I attended my 1st Tea Party today. Our doctor (at work) is a Conservative. He spent years practicing medicine in Canada. When he could no longer bear Socialized medicine, he and his family returned to the US. He and Dr. Eads spent some time educating those in attendance today. Funny thing is...one only has to actually read the bill to decide that it's an infringement upon our rights and will be devastating for our country. I brought the hubbs along just in case things got bad, but they never did and it was a peaceful protest educational opportunity. I felt that attending this Tea Party was the least I could do for this day in our history with the big march in Washington happening. We were not an angry mob. We did not speak badly about our said leader. His name wasn't even mentioned that much. Education was spread, along with the contact #s for Pelosi and Reid!!

I know I am barely playing here with only going back to Christmas, but I just love this pic! My bunchkin is growing by leaps and bounds and it's fun to see him again when he was a baby. He is 13 mos. today. Bless his heart! I had so much fun picking out Christmas clothes. I blogged about his 1st Christmas religiously!!! His clothes alone had their own post! It was a great 1st Christmas with our precious gift!!!

Political Piece
As you grow to know me, you will learn that I am very passionate about values. I am a Conservative and support small government. I am a fan of President Reagan and long for his type of leadership to return to our country. I think the love of money is the root of evil. More and more, we see politicians compromise their values and those they represent for a price. I am in complete disgust over our current White House Administration. I firmly believe we are witnessing the foundation being laid to destroy our country. I don't think Obama will go away in 4 years. I think he is building his regime and will return to take power. Don't believe me? Check out Van Jones! He is just ONE person Obama has appointment to advise him. For more on this story visit Glen Beck. America needs to take action NOW to prevent the devastation that is being plotted against her. If we sit back like lame ducks, we will find ourselves waking up one day wondering how America changed so. We will wonder where our freedoms went and how this all happened right before our very eyes. I love America AND her freedoms. I don't think Obama should be allowed to go into our schools and push his own agenda upon our children. I don't think we need a civilian military (like Hitler's) that is just as strong and well funded as our national military. I don't even think we need a civilian military. Two militaries within a country will cause great division. Want more protection within our country? How about beefing up our police? I think having a civilian military that answers only to one person (Obama) is VERY dangerous. Under the name Americorps it is happening. They were recently given 1/2 trillion dollars to pursue this agenda.
Are you wondering what you can do to represent your core values? Are you learning more and more about current politics that makes your stomach curl? I have a website that will bring you some relief and give you a place to show your support of Faith, Family and Country. Visit valuesvoterssummit.org and GET INVOLVED!

Supper time!
We have started using Charlie's own plate for supper time. I didn't capture any pics of his 1st meal in his plate. Can you believe that? His 1st meal was: tilapia, broccoli, and corn. He loved it. Here, he is eating green beans and tater tots. As you can see, he loved the tater tots! He is so fond of the green beans that I was surprised at how much he "went" for the tater tots! He loves to feed himself. We have to be careful sometimes becasue he will put everything on the tray in his mouth before swallowing! He just keeps packing it in! Other times, he savors the flavors and takes his time!

Sleeping update!
Thank you so much for all the encouraging comments. As a new mother sometimes I wonder if what I am doing really is the right thing. Many of those moments occur as my child is crying... alone....in his crib. However, this week has brought with it much success! Charlie has been going down for his naps at the Nannie's without even crying. He hasn't been quite that smooth here. He cries for about 10-15 minutes before he goes to bed at night. He has been waking up at night, but only crying for about 5-10 minutes before returning to sleep. He has been in a much better mood in the mornings too. So has Mommy! It's looking like this stage is coming to an end and I, for one, couldn't be happier to see it leave. Get on outta here!

Today is a special Monday! I am home with my child! I have been cleaning away, making my home sing! We have had a lovely day. I have started "boot camp" with my son. We fell slack on his nap times some time back, deciding it was easier for him to fall asleep when he wanted. However, I fear this has aided in his all night rendezvous. As you know, Charlie has not been sleeping through the night for going on three weeks. I am the only one that can console him and help him fall back to sleep. Oh yeah, he will only sleep in Reba too. Both of us have been at our wits end with what to do about Charlie waking and not returning to sleep. Trying disparately to help provide a quite night for me, when all else failed last night, Seth took Charlie for a ride around town. I decided right then, that we were not going to fall prey to prompts such as these. Charlie has been sleeping through the night since he was 8 weeks old, now is not the time to bring in prompts! So, today, I decided that we are going to reclaim our lives and our authority as parents. Otherwise, our relationship will decay along with our lives, as one cannot live without sleep: especially this one! We are the parents! At 0930, I put Charlie down in his crib. Boy, did he pitch a fit. He was like: what is going on? SCREAM!!! WHAT IS GOING ON?? Then, he fell to sleep. I was vacuuming to distract me. Even with the noise, by the time I was 1/2 way through with the house, he was asleep. At 1330, I put Charlie down in his crib. Again, he was like: what is going on? SCREAM!!! WHAT IS GOING ON?? SCREAM!! SCREAM!! Then, in less than 20 minutes, he fell asleep. Praise God!!! This is such a blessing. I was prepared for him to scream and cry for at least an hour. He has to learn to comfort himself. Otherwise, it will be Mommy getting him, rocking him in the recliner, not sleeping with him beside her. Or, Mommy getting him and putting him in bed with she and Daddy and not sleeping because he rolls around so much and has to be either right in her neck or on top of her head. I speak from experience! Teaching my child to comfort himself and sleep through the night is making my home sing and my marriage too for that matter! Yall pray for us---tonight is coming!!!
